Participants must complete a pottery wheel bootcamp, or introduction to pottery class prior to signing up for a throwing session. Several times are available Sunday 11-6pm. Weds 10-5 or Friday 1pm-8pm. You may contact us ( by phone 902-695-6825 or in-store ) at Perfect Diversity to book a time. You will require their a toolkit (available online, or previously purchased through Perfect Diversity for $20) as well as their own block of clay. We request that clay is purchased through our store ($22) so we can be assured the clay is fired at the correct temperature, and will react properly with our glazes.
Throwing sessions will be booked for a 6 week period, providing 1hr. wheel time plus extra time for cleanup, glazing etc. for $15 each ($90 for 6 weeks) As a User based system students will be encouraged to evaluate which pieces they would like to keep and which ones don't make the cut ( don't worry your wet clay can be recycled, and reused ) A firing fee will be charged after your artwork has gone through its final glaze firing. The firing fee is $8 per pound. ( a mug will usually cost $8)
*Once students have completed the beginner class and continue into more advanced hand-building or wheel classes they will use clay at different rates. Clay can be purchased for $22 / 25lb. block as needed.
